Tehya began her career as an English teacher for Czech journalists in Prague during the “Velvet Revolution.” When she returned home, fueled with the field experience of helping to transform a country, Tehya had her life’s purpose: to help people live to their full potential by bringing more truth, growth, and equity into the world.
Believing in the power of business as a force for good, Tehya developed a collaborative approach to leading change in complex and evolving environments. With corporate, nonprofit and startup experience, Tehya challenges the status quo, motivating teams to be curious, reach for the right answer, and build innovative strategies that achieve business and mission-based objectives.
Tehya joined Fair Trade USA in 2022 as Head of Strategic Planning & Enterprise Transformation after a 20+ year career at WarnerMedia. As a marketing executive at Warner, Tehya led global product and marketing strategies, high-visibility strategic partnerships, and enterprise-wide digital transformations, building new systems and processes around the world. As a strategy and business operations executive, Tehya established cross-divisional collaboration protocols during the early formation of what became HBO Max, and played a substantial role in integrating two major studios, WarnerMedia and Universal Pictures, to create the joint venture Studio Distribution Services, successfully merging two corporate cultures and capitalizing on over $1B in annual consumer spend.
Prior to WarnerMedia, Tehya led marketing initiatives at the American Film Institute, including the highly successful and award-winning integrated campaign celebrating the top 100 movies of the first 100 years of film.
Tehya is a passionate advocate for economic empowerment and inclusion for underrepresented communities, particularly women leaders, and has served as Board President for Conscious Capitalism Los Angeles, on the Advisory Board for Fund Her, and as a Global Ambassador for Vital Voices and Activator for Coralus (formerly SheEO).
Tehya is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from University of California, Santa Cruz. Tehya resides in Santa Monica, California with her husband and many plants.
